Obedience Intensive Program
As your puppy reaches around six months of age, they enter the adolescence stage. During this period, their maturity and brain development provide them with the added focus and attention span needed for formal obedience training.
If you've completed my Puppy Development Program, your puppy should already be housebroken and possess the necessary skills and understanding to advance seamlessly into obedience training.
My obedience intensive program goes above and beyond, ensuring that you and your dog understand each other perfectly. It is founded on a reward-based teaching system, harnessing the power of classical and operant conditioning to teach your dog new behaviors and reliable obedience commands.
What sets this program apart from others is the commitment to clear communication. My goal is to teach you how to communicate effectively with your dog through the art of shaping and verbal markers. This approach guarantees consistently positive interactions with your pet without frustration and anger.
Additionally, we will employ proofing techniques to make sure your dog can reliably perform any command, regardless of the environment or circumstances. Whether it's a bustling city street or a quiet park, your dog will respond to your instructions with confidence.
This program covers a range of essential obedience commands, including:
Come: Ensure your dog has an excellent recall and returns to you promptly and safely when called.
Sit: Teach your dog to sit on command (and not just in the kitchen or when a treat is involved). This is a fundamental obedience behavior when done right.
Stay: Instill the discipline of staying in one place until given permission to move.
Down: Train your dog to lie down on cue, from any distance, and despite any environmental distractions.
Heel: Master the art of walking with your dog at your side, a valuable skill for any dog owner.
Out: Let your dog release an item they're holding in their mouth.
Leave It: Keep your dog safe by teaching them to leave potentially harmful items alone (from leaving food on the ground to refraining from chasing a squirrel).
By enrolling in this obedience program, you're investing in a well-behaved, confident, and obedient companion.
